I started playing baseball at a young age and immediately fell in love with gloves. I still remember saving up to buy my first leather glove from Gart Brothers in Cedar City, Utah. Over the years, I’ve owned many gloves, but it wasn't until college that I began repairing them.
During my junior year of collegiate baseball in 2009 at Southern Utah University, the web lace on my glove snapped. Not knowing anyone who could fix it, I bought a new glove, but I didn't like it as much. Determined to restore my old glove, I bought a lace kit and taught myself how to fix it. This sparked a new passion, and soon I was repairing gloves for teammates and friends.
In 2013, I turned my hobby into a business and founded Reglove. The idea for Reglove was sparked after an impactful lecture and discussion I had while pursuing my Master’s degree at Virginia Tech University. I began taking gloves apart, writing notes and diagrams, then fixing them. I started using worn-out gloves to create upcycled leather products like wallets and keychains. Over the past decade, I’ve repaired thousands of gloves, gaining extensive hands-on experience and a deep understanding of glove components.
By 2016, I began designing my own gloves, starting with catcher's mitts and fielding gloves. Though the first attempts were rough, it was a significant step forward.
In 2020, a pivotal year in my journey, a friend encouraged me to continue pursuing my passion and helped me make valuable industry connections. With renewed energy, I launched Yardley Sports in December 2020, aiming to develop gloves that incorporated the best features I had encountered during my repair work.
Drawing from my extensive experience as both a player and a coach, I understand how gloves should fit, feel, and respond. Yardley gloves might feel familiar because they incorporate the best elements from top gloves, refined through my personal insights.
